Bad Day (Jaime Lanhoso Mesquita)

Bad Day is a film that, quite literally, objectively and honestly displayed the events of a bad day and the feeling this can bring. The film follows Dave as various events and people frustrate and exhaust him.

Often not dramatic, we aimed to show the slowness such days have and the way in which they drain a person. The filmmaking looked to underscore this idea. The slow cutting rhythm and static cinematography display the demoralising effect a bad day can have on someone while the different approaches to spaces demonstrate how the building of small frustrations can slowly feel very intrusive and suffocating.
